20th birthday, our story.
In 1998 we took the opposite plunge of our parents and moved from Sydney, Australia to Paros Island, Greece. With 2 small children and a big dream of owning our own hotel on the beautiful Greek island of Paros.
With hospitality in our blood, hard work and dedication Paliomylos has had many changes along the way. (We knew nothing about running a hotel)
The first year we where a little lost on the travel business, the travel agents and tourists ideas. Through sheer perseverance, tremendous amounts of renovations, adding things along the way, we can't believe its been 20years, as old as our son!
We have seen the tourist trends change, when we would receive faxes for reservations, letters in the post and hoards of people walking by asking for a room. I think back at those letters from people who would return again and again, making us feel so proud for our hotel and services provided. Great friendships where formed along the way and in most countries we have warm hearts to meet on our own travels.
The last 10years or more with the internet at full strength, TripAdvisor at its peak we have been listed always in the top 5! No easy task I assure you. People ask us how do we do it, the days are long 16-18hrs a day, 7 days no break, no beach, no free time. But I can honestly say we have been rewarded with many things.
There is also a new family member, we are now 5. The people we have met at the hotel come as strangers but walk away as friends and when they return they feel like they are our long lost cousins, with cheer and hugs. We can't help it, we truly appreciate everyone as tough as some might be for making Paliomylos Spa Hotel what it is today.
We are grateful, and hope to be around another 20yrs. So if you are thinking of coming to Naousa Paros, we would be thrilled to have you with us OR just drop by for a coffee or a drink.
